NORO SOUTHERN STYLE                  Saturday March 27^th    1 pm - 4 pm

This sweater is the perfect compliment to our southern region.  It wears well in spring, winter or fall because it is made with Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn.  You will learn how to smock, (which is surprisingly easy), make ruffles, and experience just a little lace knitting.  Bring US size 2 and 3 needles (depending on which size will yield the correct gauge). You will need to purchase Book 3 by Jenny Watson and Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn at Yarn Paradise.

 

 

CITRON SHAWLETTE CLASS             Thursdays April 1^st and 8^th                  9 am - 11 am

Elizabeth Helmich     $30 for 2 classes

This is a very fun and quick shawlette; knitted out of Malabrigo lace weight or sock weight yarn, and takes only one skein!  It makes a cute accessory for Spring.  For this class, you need to know how to knit, purl and increase.  Bring 32 inch (minimum) circular needles, size 4, 5, 6  (depending on size needed for gauge)

 

 

WRAP ME UP                          Mondays  March  15^th, 22^nd, 29^th                      6pm - 8 pm

A modular sampler wrap that’s over the top in color and texture - as much fun to make as it is to wear.  Choose one of the Noro self-striping yarns in a worsted weight or DK or sock weight. You will learn Bobbles, Mitered Squares, Linen Stitch, Seed Stitch, and Double Moss Stitch.

 

 

TECHNICAL DETAILS                 Thursday March 25^th         6 pm - 8 pm

This class will cover many of the techniques and technical terms that  you as a knitter need to know.  For instance: reading a yarn label, how to determine gauge, how to make a yarn substitution, how to decipher pattern abbreviations and charts.

Minimum: 3 paid students

Ready to get started?  The knitted dishcloth is the ideal first project, fast to finish and always useful around the house!  Of course, if you prefer you can make a simple scarf.

 

 

MASTERING YOUR FIRST PROJECT                 Sundays 4- 6 pm          Class will be ongoing - Join at any time

Are you ready to make your first garment? This is the class for you. You could choose an easy sweater or a vest or a hat.  Prerequisites:  You must be able to knit and purl proficiently.

 

 

KNITTING BASICS and BEYOND                    Wed.  evenings  6- 8 pm Classes are ongoing - Join at any time

Once you’re ready to advance your knitting skills just pick a more challenging project and join our group.  This class could also be for a beginner or someone who hasn’t knitted in a long time!  Learn the Art of Knitting in a fun and creative atmosphere.

You’ve learned to knit and purl - now it’s time to move on to more challenging stitch patterns. We will be working through the book FEARLESS KNITTING WORKBOOK.

These classes can be any project you’d like.  Appropriate for a first time knitter or someone who’s ready to start knitting again.  It’s a great class to learn to knit socks on double pointed needles.

BBB is short for Bunny Baby Blanket, a very quick Knit or Crochet - that’s right you can make this if you Crochet or Knit! Make this soft, cuddly bunny for your own little one or use as a gift for a baby shower! Depending on your speed this could be a single class or several.

                       

 

SPINNING                    Offered as Private Lesson: call to schedule

Sherry Baldwin $22 per hour

Learn the basics of spinning on your own wheel or learn how to select a wheel to purchase.  If you can pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time, you can spin!!  Wheel rental available.

You set the guidelines for this type of class - meet anytime and become skilled at anything!  Great for learning techniques such as finishing/seaming, knitting in the round, cabling; or whatever you need for your current project.  Private instruction is also ideal for children or teenagers wanting to learn how to knit, as they can move at their own pace.
